Perfect Sunset Engagement In Countryside
Nearly one year ago, I was bustling around my grandmother’s house putting on a warm coat and gloves, prepping to enjoy the holiday lights at Warm Springs Ranch with my family for my sister’s birthday. Little did I know (and much to my sister’s surprise), I was about to witness an incredibly joyous event that leads me to this journal post right here.
“On the weekend of December 16th, 2017, Brandon and I were celebrating the Christmas holiday with my family. Warm Springs Ranch was nearby and I wanted to go see the holiday lights. Brandon was really adamant about going too, which I found odd because he really doesn’t like to be around crowds. Once we got there, Brandon was walking really fast, weaving through lines of people who also walking around enjoying the lights like us. I remember telling him ‘Brandon, slow down!’ We finally reached the entrance of the ranch and Brandon stopped me and asked if I wanted to take a picture. This was really odd, too, because Brandon is not a picture-taking kind of guy, but I obliged. I joined him in front of the barn, where my sister starts “taking a picture,” but all of a sudden Brandon knelt down on one knee and asked me the easiest question I’ve ever had to answer in my life: ‘Katelyn, will you marry me?’ Of course I said ‘Yes!’ We were surrounded by our family who celebrated with us. He made that night one that I will always remember. I cannot wait to spend the rest of my life with my best friend!” —Katelyn
I was honored to photograph Katelyn and Brandon’s engagement session at their first home in Rolla, MO. Their charming little white house in the country sits proudly in front of a lovely barn in the surrounding pasture. It was the perfect location to capture the sunset!
Katelyn and Brandon’s pup, Sophie, joined us for a few pictures during their session. She sat so proudly between her mom and dad on the porch steps!
My sister and future brother-in-law will be tying the knot on September 21st, 2019 in St. James, Missouri. I cannot wait for my dear friend and associate photographer, Rachel, to document their big day!
Congratulations, Katelyn and Brandon!
