Casey and Jonathon Meier | Visitation Catholic Church Wedding
Peach and Dusty Blue Spring Wedding in Rolling Hills of Mid Missouri
A day that was supposed to be filled with afternoon thunderstorms and rain instead was filled with warmth and sunshine. I arrived at Jonathon’s parents’ house where the Bride, bridesmaids, and both mothers were spending their morning before the wedding, and when I walked I could instantly sense a calming, yet anticipatory feeling. Casey was radiant and wearing her veil as her bridesmaids sat around her at the kitchen island. Her wedding dress hung between the double sliding doors near the kitchen. I could tell that she was more than ready to slip into it and experience her first look moment with Jonathon.
With Casey in her gown and Jonathon in his suit, we tucked Casey away in the back of the church and walked with Jonathon to the front of the aisle. The church was all white walls and stained glass and very quiet. Jonathon looked ahead and swayed back and forth a little while he waited for his bride. I opened the door in the back where Casey was hiding, peeked in, and asked her if she was ready to see her groom. “Yes!” she exclaimed with a beautiful, thoughtful smile. She stepped into the aisle and I fluffed her dress. Her smile was permanent as she saw her groom standing before her. Soon, all you could hear was the rustling of her dress as she walked up the aisle, the click of my shutter, and Casey’s voice saying, “Jonathon, you can turn around now.” He paused for a moment, then turned to his left, and he beamed with the biggest smile I had ever seen him wear.
Jonathon and Casey exchanged their vows in the beautiful church of their hometown on June 1st, 2019. It overflowed with family and friends, with only standing room remaining in the rear of the church. They dined and danced the evening away at the hall a few blocks away, while a magnificent sunset seemed to bless the end of the best day of their lives.
June 1st was not only the day that Jonathon and Casey became husband and wife, but it was also the seventh anniversary of their first date!
Casey sentimentally added precious family heirlooms into her bridal detail portraits, including a handkerchief from her father’s mother, a cameo pin from her mother’s grandmother, and a sapphire ring of Jonathon’s grandmother, which she wore on her middle finger throughout her wedding day; a precious “something blue.”
Casey’s sweet grandmother was also her Matron of Honor. Now how adorable is that?!
Jonathon and Casey opted for a first look on their wedding day, so they were able to have several Bride and Groom portraits before their ceremony and again during the perfect golden hour in the evening before their reception. Their golden hour portraits occurred at Jonathon’s grandparents’ farm, where they had their engagement session last fall!
Congratulations Jonathon and Casey! Bless your marriage!
