Madeline and Dakota | Glenn Acres Farm Wedding
Darling Pastel Wedding at Chandelier-Lit Stone Chapel in Columbia, Missouri
“These two are truly meant to be together.”
The sentence rolled off the tongue of the preacher with the utmost sincerity and loving kindness that even a stranger could believe it’s truth. In that instance, Madeline and Dakota simultaneously gave one another a glance from the side and a shy smile. He held her hand tenderly as the stone chapel was filled to the brim with their friends and family. Chandeliers lined the vault of the ceiling and softly lit the interior as Dakota and Madeline gave one another their solemn promises. And soon afterwards, sealed with a kiss and a great cheer from their loving guests, Madeline and Dakota became Mr. and Mrs. Sweezer.
Madeline and Dakota tied the knot at Glenn Acres Farm in Columbia, Missouri on the fairest day in August. A slight breeze swept across the twin lakes, causing a ripple effect that sparkled in the sun. There was so much memorable sentiment poured into this sweet couple’s day, from the 1950’s model Chevrolet that has been in Madeline’s family for generations to the veil that acted as Madeline’s “something borrowed” that her sister wore in her own wedding, but none as memorable as Madeline’s first look handshake with with father, Tracy!
One of my very favorite highlights of Madeline and Dakota’s wedding, one that I will never forget, was that the couple decided to have not only one wedding cake, but several self-serve wedding cakes lining the guests tables in the reception venue. The saying really rang true on that day, that “you could have your cake and eat it too!" But not only was the self-serve cake enough to wow their guests, but they were also delighted with mini pies from Peggy Jean’s Pies (the lovely little pie shop that Madeline works at) that they could take home and enjoy.
Madeline and Dakota were surprised during their first dance when a cloud of white spread across the dance floor, and even engulfed them a time or two, creating an ethereal and dream-like effect. Their guests were very fond of this fun surprise!
The newlyweds allowed me to whisk them away from a quiet moment across the lake for portraits at sunset, and the glowy low sun paired with the affection that exuded from this new husband and wife did not disappoint!
Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Sweezer! Bless your marriage!
