I've always heard that rain on your wedding day is good luck. But when a short rain shower mixes with bright sunlight, well, it is all too magical.
And Ashley and Whitney's wedding day was nothing short of pure magic.
Ashley and Whitney exchanged their vows and promised each other forever on May 31st, 2018 at Bessie's Barn in Centerville, Iowa. When I arrived that day, Whitney's hair was all pinned up in curls, and so was her daughter's. The pair were so adorable together as Jacee sat on her mom's lap while I snapped a few portraits. I can only imagine that Jacee is going to look through these one day when she is older and cherish them forever.
Soon later, Whitney's heels clicked against the stairs of the back deck of the venue while she walked towards the quaint wisteria covered pergola, where Ashley was standing and waiting for her. It was time for their first look, and Whitney was all smiles as she tapped her husband-to-be on the shoulder. Ashley smiled and kissed her, and twirled her around in her wedding dress, a moment that all Brides dream of.
As the two cuddled up for bridal portraits, large clouds and a few rumbles of thunder rolled in. For a few minutes there were clouds, and in the next moment the sun would peek out again. After the last cloud rolled through, the sun shone brilliantly, and then the sky opened up in a small rain shower. My husband quickly grabbed some umbrellas that I have been dying to use, and Whitney and Ashley strolled around together in the rain, giggling and smiling and kissing. It was magic!
Whitney and Ashley said their "I do's" inside the barn venue, surrounded by close family and friends, and their sweet son and daughter, Cash and Jacee. Chandeliers and twinkle lights suspended above them, casting a warm and inviting glow and created an intimate atmosphere. After the nuptials, the two ran out to the front of the venue, where their guests were eagerly waiting to congratulate them. Bubbles floated in the air as the newly weds held hands and smiled at their guests, only stopping once for a sweet kiss.
Congratulations, Mr. and Mrs. Watson, Cash, and Jacee! It was a joy to be a part of not only your beautiful day, but all of the planning leading up to this wonderful moment. We wish you a most beautiful and wonderful life together, and we look forward to seeing your sweet family grow!
