Cody and Mariah Dudenhoeffer

I opened the door to the venue space and everyone was buzzing. The florists were quietly arranging the centerpieces that cascaded about the rose gold sequined guest tables, the final details were being carefully placed on the backdrop for the sweets bar, I could hear the bridesmaids chatting excitedly upstairs in the bridal suite. The sunlight poured into the room from my left, leaving everything in a beautiful glow.

Who would have thought that a first date ending with Cody falling in a creek would evolve into this gorgeous day, where two loving and excited families would gather together, to witness Cody and Mariah exchange vows.

This is their love story.

Cody and Mariah tied the knot on May 26th, 2018 on a warm and sunny day at Emerson Fields in Excello, MO. They've been planning for this day for quite some time. Mariah explained that the beauty of the day was a labor of love from her mom, dad, and sisters, who had helped with much of the style and design.

A few of the most beautiful moments occurred before the ceremony: Cody and Mariah read private letters from one another before their first look, a few tears were shed when Mariah's dad walked in the bridal suite to see his daughter as a stunning Bride. I remember him hugging her and saying, "This day is all about you." Soon after, Mariah descended the stairs from the bridal suite and walked out to the dock over the sparkling lake, where Cody was waiting for her. He nervously swayed back and forth a little, and she was trying not to cry. She sweetly called out his name, and when he turned, he smiled radiantly.

The ceremony was something of a fairy tale, with clouds rolling in to offer shade and a cool down for their guests. Situated under a tall tree in the field in front of the venue, a beautiful arbor stood still and strong, with a cord of three strands to the right and the newlyweds' first communion to the left. Sweet acoustic music drifted in the air as their guests were seated, and as Cody smiled and looked on, everyone rose as Mariah made her grand entrance. The ceremony couldn't have been anymore thoughtful, as Mariah's grandfather proudly married the couple.

At the reception, many of the guests were in awe of the thoughtfulness that the couple had extended, having their names artistically written on leaves at their place setting. The weather was so nice in the evening that many of the guests enjoyed the company on the back patio or played lawn games in the backyard as the sun set brilliantly over the lake. It was a joyous celebration, as the couple danced the night away with their friends and family and ended the evening with a sparkler send off, the perfect way to begin the first day of the rest of their lives.

Cody and Mariah, we are humbled and thankful to have been a part of your perfect day. We wish you all the happiness in the world.

Bless your marriage!
