She came home from a workout to find Chris waiting in the garage. "I thought it was weird that he was there waiting for me in the garage, but he said that he wanted to go take a hike." "Do you remember that really warm day in February?" Chris asked. "It was around 80 degrees that day. That was the day. I couldn't wait anymore; I was ready."
Alicia hopped in the car and they drove to Rocheport, Missouri. If you've never been to Rocheport before, the Katy Trail and the Missouri river run right through it, and there are the most magnificent bluff tops with incredible views. Chris had a particular location in mind, but it was quite a hike to the top. "I was getting pretty tired when we were nearing the top, but Chris took his shoulder and kept pushing me and helping me along," Alicia laughed. Chris said, "Yeah, we were definitely going to get to the top."
It was on top of that bluff, on an 80 degree day in February, that Chris proposed to Alicia.
I really enjoyed meeting and getting to know Chris and Alicia during their golden hour engagement session in Mid-Missouri. Much like on the day of their proposal, we were on a bluff top, and you could see for miles. The pine trees had some significance, as they will be getting married at Little Piney Lodge in Hermann, MO. next September.
And aren't you just in love with the way the sunlight pours through those trees and reflects from the golden pine needles that blanket the ground?
Enjoy, Chris and Alicia!
